Synonym: Blackish singing shrike.

On January 8, we saw a num in the park at an altitude of 1600 m (Abidjatta-Shalla National Park, Oromia Region).

Synonym: Ethiopian song shrike, Laniarius aethiopicus aethiopicus.

After the division of Tropical Boubou (Laniarius aethiopicus) into four distinct species
(Nguembock et al. 2008, Redman et al 2009, HBW)
this specific name has been preserved for the Ethiopian gonolek.

On January 4, one bird in the bushes at an altitude of 1400 m num. (Melka Ghebdu, Amhara Region).
On January 8 and 9, we met on the road and at the Bishangari Lodge (Lake Langano, Oromia Region).

Sighted in the savannah on the Afar Plain at an altitude of 800 num on January 6 (Aledeghi Wildlife Reserve, Afar Region).

On January 8, a group (3-4) birds at the entrance to the Park at an altitude of 1600 m (Abidjatta-Shalla National Park, Oromia Region).

January 3, one bird on the upper slope of the Gemmu Valley at an altitude of 2400 m num (Jemmu Valley near Lemi, Amhara Region).

On January 3, a single bird west of the city of Deneb at an altitude of 2600 m num (Semien Shewa, Amhara Region).
On January 10, it is common on the Sanetti Plateau up to an altitude of 4100 m num (Bale Mountains National Park, Oromia Region).

On January 2, birds were seen on the territory of the hotel (Ethio-German Park Hotel, Oromia Region).
Seen in the forest around Debre Libanos Monastery, Oromia Region on 2 January.
On January 3, we met on the upper slope of the Gemmu Valley at an altitude of 2400 m num (Jemmu Valley near Lemi, Amhara Region).
On January 6, we met in the coastal forest along the Awash River at an altitude of 1000 num (Awash National Park, Oromia Region).

The birds sat on the cliff and on the grass.

Synonym: Cecropis daurica domicella.

There is some doubt about the correctness of the definition. According to the literature, the range of this swallow is located to the west.
Perhaps it is Cecropis daurica melanocrissus.

On January 2, we met one bird on the Sululta Plain at an altitude of 2500 m num (Deneba Hayk ', Oromia Region).
The swallow was picking up the ground on the steep bank of the river in its beak. Nesting??

Synonym: Singing thymelia.

On January 10, we saw birds on the northern slope of the Sanetti Plateau at an altitude of 3000 m (Bale Mountains National Park, Oromia Region).
My attempts to whistle her song were successful: the bird flew from the top of the tree and looked around in flight.
